Cosmetic Surgery

Liposuction is a frequently performed cosmetic or aesthetic procedure. Liposuction procedure consists of aspiration of excess adipose tissue of the body to get back the desired shape, curves and body contour. This is not a weight loss procedure, it can achieve improved body contour, overall size decrease, and act as a stimulus for further weight loss.

Anesthesia, Aftercare and Complications

The procedure can be done in local anesthesia or general anesthesia as a day case.
There can be minimal soakage from the site of liposuction for a couple of days. Compression garment is worn for more than a month. The common complications are bruises and seroma.

Procedure

Anesthesia and Aftercare

An umbilicoplasty usually requires only local anesthesia. It is performed as an office procedure or in a surgical center. Most umbilicoplasty results will be permanent, barring pregnancy or significant weight gain following the surgery.
